Creative Use Freebie

I went into work for two hours yesterday, was told I was incoherent, and was sent home. I really don't think I'm babbling, do you? I mean, it's not like I have enough of a voice left to babble. In any case...

This is a creative use pre-train freebie that I did sort of for the Wrapped in Chocolate blog train although it's more Valentine's Day themed. I thought I'd put it out there now in case anyone wanted to use it for their kits.

It is taggers sized and consists of 5 800 x 800 pxl overlays, and corresponding sample papers, 5 gradients for use in both PSP and PS,  2 1260 x 100 ribbon overlays, 5 balloons, 3 fuzzy bears and two rose clusters.

Credit not required, but appreciated.

Cat O' Mine Tails

Cats on Tuesday

So, we're sitting in the house together, the Big Black Christmas Cat and I, on Chrismtas Night at around 3 AM in the morning, and we start hearing this "snapping" noise coming from the corner by the door.

Diamond is staring intently at the area and I'm thinking to myself, "Oh no. Don't tell me Tristan brought something exotic into the house again." Diamond continues to stare, like there's some sort of prey animal there and then all the sudden...

that's when....

the bookcase collapsed.

The snapping noise was the wood giving way.

Diamond simply looks at me with the attitude of "See. I've you'd listened to me and bought cat treats instead of books, you wouldn't have this problem."

Sunday, I had just gotten out of the shower when the smoke alarm starts going off. There's no smoke, and no one was cooking anything, so I figured the battery was going.

I dry myself off and go out into the living room to see what's going on.

Tristan is sitting under the smoke alarm, staring at it with rapt attention.

"MEEP!" says the smoke alarm.

"Meow?" Tristan responds.

"MEEP!" says the smoke alarm.

"Meow?" Tristan responds.

"You're talking to the smoke alarm," I observe.

"MEEP!" says the smoke alarm.

"Meow?" Tristan responds.

"What did you do to it?"

"MEEP!" says the smoke alarm.

"Meow?" Tristan responds.

I pull the smoke alarm down and take the battery out. Tristan looks crushed, like I'd just banished his best friend in the whole wide world.

Sir Tristan Tabby Cat Longtail

Last night, right after dinner, Diamond vanished toward the bedroom and wasn't seen again for the remainder of the evening. It was finally time to go to sleep when I went to look for her.

She was in none of her usual spots, but when I found my black jeans laying on the floor, I had a pretty good idea of where she'd gotten off to.

Diamond Emerald Eyes

She's been up there before, it's just been a while. Trying to get her down, without her taking half the closet with her, was an entirely different matter.

New in Shops: New Beginnings!

New Beginnings

I've never been, but I hear it's the best little nightclub and showbar in Washington County, Tennessee. This is a bit of a New Year's fantasy inspired by the New Beginnings bar.

24 (800 x 800, .jpg) papers that sparkle brighter than a bottle of pink champagne, and 138 .png element geared toward celebrating not just the New Year...but any occasion that warrents a party.

Tickets to the New Years Eve bash at the real bar start at $10, but you can sneak into the cyber version of the party for substanitally less money.

Saved to 300 DPI, it's also suitable for blogwear, web stationary and smaller print jobs. Personal use only please.

So pop the cork and let's get this party started!

Sorry! This kit has been retired!

Tutorials, Sales and other fun things

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the house,
Only the Digicat was stirring,
She was playing with her mouse!

Shal, who is on the creative team at Just4Taggers.com, asked for my Celebrate! taggers kit, then changed her mind and asked for Party Girl, and since she does fab work, I sent her both. :)

No way I was gonna miss a chance at getting tutorials done LOL!

2010

This tag was done using the Party Girl kit and oh...but I love that Garvey tube. I've already purchased it, I just need to sit down and do some tuts with it.

In fact I just added up my receipts for the month to discover I've spend just under $50 at My PSP Tubes. No wonder I'm broke all the time. LOL.

You can find the tutorial for this fabulous tag at Life with Shal.

Celebrating the New Year

She went blingy with the Celebrate! kit and I got an Elias Chatzoudis tube and animation. How lucky can a girl get? LOL!

Fabulous job on both hun, thanks so much!

This tutorial is called Celebrating the New Year and you can get it at Life with Shal and try it for yourself.

I also added my Heat Stroke kit to my stores:

Heat Stroke

I love South Florida sports and since I'd already done a kit for the Dolphins, putting together a tribute kit to the 2006 NBA world champion Heat seemed like a no-brainer.

This taggers sized kit includes 20 basketball themed papers (800 x 800, .jpg) and 83 .png elements. Putting together a great tag is a slam dunk with 5 rectangular frames, 5 round frames, 5 basketball tags, 5 bows, 5 brads, 5 chicken wires, 5 flowers, 5 glitter splats, 5 glitter swirls, 5 ribbons, 5 string wraps, 3 pom-poms, 2 faux logos, 2 basketballs, 2 foam fingers, 2 Heat jerseys (1 home, 1 away), 2 megaphones, 2 word arts, 1 basketball net, 1 city buildings, 1 Heat basketball, 1 hoop and net, 1 MvP charm, 1 scoreboard, 1 stop watch, 1 team cap, 1 water bottle, and 4 cheerleading posers (c) by MediEvil Creations.

This is a fan produced kit. No infringement of trademarks or copyrights is intended and no authentic logos were used in the production of the kit.

Saved to 300 DPI, it's also perfect for blog wear, web sets and stationary, and smaller print jobs.

So come on and show your support of the South Florida team that can't be beat!

Fractured Carols

Do you see what I see?
(Do you see what I see?)
A tabby, a tabby, shivered in the cold,
Now he's curled up on my fleecy all bold,
Now he's curled up on my fleecy all bold.

Tris & Diamond

So, Rowena has left for South Carolina. She was reading me the weather report and I said "It sounds like snow weather. You might have a white Christmas." Started dancing around all happy. She's never seen snow, it's one of those things she keeps wishing for.

Frankly I've shoveled enough snow in my life, so I'll stay in beautiful green Cape Coral. Although it's dropped into the 50's and the birds are flying around trying to stay warm.

Rockin New Year's Bubbly

This is a tutorial I wrote last night. It's very easy as the frame comes done for you, so there's only a few things to do, nothing too hard and nothing I don't explain. This is a good one of the beginning tagger.

You can find it at Di Before Dawn tutorials.

We're in the office for half a day today. Then I get to go home and fight for possession of the bed. Again.

CU Gingerbread Overlay Freebie

Pink and Yellow are NOT my colors, but I thought the theme - Everything Gingerbread - would make for a cute kit. I wasn't wrong - it turned out super cute. However, the train doesn't roll until January 3rd, so you'll have to wait.

In the meantime though, I've a bit of a pretrain freebie for you - some CU overlays. There are five layered overlays in taggers size (800 x 800 pxls) in this pack, saved in both .psd and .pspimage format.

There's also five sample papers saved as .jpg files.

Remember that by downloading, you are agreeing to abide by my terms of use which state in part that that you cannot redistribute, rebroadcast, resale, or claim my graphics as your own. That means placing this kit on 4Shares, RapidShare or any other file sharing site is a strict NO-NO! That constitutes redistribution.

If you know someone who is interested in these overlays, please direct them to my blog where they can download their own copy. Free to use is NOT the same thing as free to share. My graphics are copyright protected.

Xmas Lights

Yesterday was the Cape Coral Boat Along. As far as boat parade goes, this one is pretty mild although according to reports it still drew over 5,000 to Freedom Park. I had mentioned to one of my friends that it just makes me miss Winterfest in Fort Lauderdale. Now THAT was a boat parade!

And I suspect the crowd it drew as more like 50,000. You couldn't get near the intercoastal on parade day and reserved seating at intercoastal restaurants was made months in advance.

I was lucky enough to get a waterfront table at a nice restaurant one year, where we could enjoy a good meal, and sit back and sip champagne while the boats then by.

Scrapping All the Way put out a fabulous new page kit called Jingle Bell Boogie. I really like the colors in this one, so I asked if could work with it.

Winterfest Layout 1

In Aus, Santa's sleigh is pulled by Six White Boomers, as opposed to the 8 tiny reindeer we normally see. In Florida, it's six illuminated dolphin doing sleigh duty! I sure do hope that sleigh can float!

Winterfest Layout 2

Part of the charm of Winterfest is the backdrop of the hi-rise towers which are also illuminated for the parade. YOu don't have building that sore 40 or so floors into the air in the Cape.

I've got one more shot I want to scrap with this kit, then I'm going to script it down and do a tag with it. Really fun stuff inside, as you can tell from these two layouts. :) Jingle Bell Boogie can be purchased at Scrapper's Secret, where the designers are REAL angels.

A Litte Bit of Holiday Cheer

Damn contemporary, bullshit architecture

REMEMBER THIS AT CHRISTMAS TIME

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeers retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.

Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.

We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

New Tuts

I came home Friday to a flood. One of the pipes had a pinpoint leak in it and of course, sending out an emergency call to the plumber go him there around 8 am Saturday morning. After I'd been bailing all night. ::sigh::

So I've been doing clean up. The rug is finally drying out - it smelled like a dirty, wet, wookie. I put carpet fresh on it, and now it smells like a dirty, wet wookie with carpet fresh on it. Very gross.

Let it Snow

This first tutorial uses Crazed's Creations Let it Snow taggers kit. I was keen to play with this one when she released it, and I was really happy with the kit.

You can find the Winter Fae tutorial at Di Before Dawn.

Kiss of Winter 2

Extrapolating a bit from the above tutorial, I did this tag using Schnegge's Kiss of Winter 2 blog train freebie and her Winter Girl poser pack. The elements are different, the layouts basically the same, and the frames are already done, you don't need to add anything to them.

I saw no reason to write up a separate tutorial. You're bright, you can figure it out I'm sure.

Wynter Solstice

I've become very fond of Nette's kits, so I used her part of the Winter Solstice collab for this tutorial for Scrapper's Secret.

I am using the beautiful artwork of Morgana Wynter for this. You can find the tutorial at Di Before Dawn. I need to get a few more of Morgana's tubes when I get paid, she's got some nice ones.

Five Golden Rings 1

When Julie released the "Mike on Ice" poser pack, I e-mailed her and said it looked nothing like MY Mike. I don't think he looked this good, even in his prime. And of course, he's into hockey, not figure skating.

With the winter Olympics coming up this year, I decided to base a kit on the poser pack and am putting together a kit called Five Golden Rings which will be available Monday, December 21st, exclusively at Scrappetizing.com.

Five Golden Rings 2

Winter sports not your thing? You can use it for some very nice winter tags as well, it's quite versatile. Needless to say, no, I don't look like the poser either. LOL!

No tutorials on those, they are sampler tags - consider them a sneak peak.

Please remember that I've got not one but two blog trains launching on Tuesday so be sure to stop back and collect your freebies.

Anyway, I think I need to jump in the shower and then head out to the store now, if only to get away from the smell of dirty wet carpet-freshed wookie for a while.

Then I'll have to sit down and make up some Olympic medals.
