Going Fishing

This is the little dialog piece to go along with the Fishing Trip piece I did earlier. It's the bulk of Diamond's blog post for Friday, since I'll be tied up with baseball.

The whole thing came from Karen Lewis' Little Safari kit from Digital Freebies. BTW, if you want to see a fabulous layout (not mine) using that kit, click HERE.

I look at stuff like this and say to myself - I have so much yet to learn!

Franchise

I really dont' want to get into doing sports related pieces because we'll never see the end of it. However, it seems we have Francisco Liriano back in a Miracle Uni to start the season on a rehab assignment. So I couldnt' resist.

The dark blue paper is from Raspberry Road Designs Mystic Winter Kit, the Red is from RetroDiva's Be Mine kit and the ribbon, tag and brad are from Digital Freebies Strong Shoes kit.

The lettering comes to us from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

The photo was taken in Sarasota, during a somewhat memorable game. I will not bore you with all the details.

Sir Dante

Marie LaFrance from Digital Freebies had this nice pirate themed kit called ArrrMatey, which both appealed to the side of the side of us that likes Pirates without being kid specific. So I had to get it.

Then of course, I had to test it out. So I used Dante, from Captain Jack and Dante's blog, because who better to test out a pirate themed kit on than the first mate of the Black Furball?

I thought it turned out nice.

Dante, BTW, is apply named, as he went through hell as a stray kitten before being signed aboard as a Purrageous Pirate.

Needless to say, you'll be seeing a lot more of this kit.

Thundering Herd of Elephants

If you've ever been owned by a cat, you'll understand this piece. How something that doesn't weigh more than 15 pounds can make SOOOOOOO much noise when she goes pounding through the house is beyond me.

I need to move the ribbon the bottom picture a bit so I'm glad I saved the work file.

Maria LaFrance's Under the Sea was the kit I used for this. The soon to be retired kit is on sale right now at Digital Freebies for half price.

The Catfish toy came from Petlane.com.

Surf's Up

Gretchen from Gretchen's Paw Prattle jumped into the middle of a photo shoot with Mike and ended up getting some eyeglasses photoshopped onto her. I took the rest of the way. He rather looks like the Big Kahuna in this piece does she not?

The Aloha Kit from Digital Freebies by Marie LaFrance provided the background for this piece, although the Flowers were taken from Michelle Boroni's Ocean Lights kit, which is a freebie.

The Aloha kit is also on the soon to be retired list and is available for half price at the DF Boutique.

Staying on the Dock

Given a choice between staying on the beach with he tiger friends or trying out the seemingly fun water sports, we know which option Miss Diamond Will take.

The photos were taken on the intercoastal waterway back in the early 90's.

BTW: Dragonheart reported that the ASPCA is selling a scapbooking kit for $7.99 with all proceeds going to benefit the ASPCA. I've seen better dog and cat kits out there, they did say this one was designed to be used by just about anyone rather than making it really pet specific. However, it's for a god cause so you might want to consider it.

Grr's Great Adventure (Part I)

I had this idea to do something with "The Diary of Grr" but it wasn't coming. For April though, I decided Grr wanted to go to the Beach but decided to save money and book through another agency.

What can I say? She should have gone with Catatonic Travel!

So this is the first of four inter-related pieces as Grr gets sent to random spots around the world, always looking for the beach.

Here, she's found the edge of the world.

This uses Raspberry Road Designs' Wild Kingdom kit with elements from Digital Freebies' African Beat kit.

Petronious The Arbiter

Petey is 19 pounds of fun and fur, over at Petronious the Arbiter. He's one of our blue variant panthers and list his occupation as an Outspoke Housecat. He likes most of the standard feline things: eating, sleeping, bird watching, and the chasing of feathered things.

A resident of Southwest Oklahoma, he lives with four other cats, four dogs, 4 humans a few fishes, which he obviously has not yet seen fit to eat. You really should rememdy that situation Petey.

This used Jennifer Schmitt's Family Man kit from Digital Freebies, and is the complementing piece to Happy-Go-Lucky. The lettering is from Shabby Princess' Dinner Party Kit.

Mr. Magoo

A big, fluffy gray House Panther, Magoo lives Alberta, Canada, with Baci, Dolce, and Bella. He was Smudge's brofur, before Smudge's medical problems led to his relocation to his Grandmother's house.

Magoo turned 12 on March 3rd. This endangered Canadian Lynx was last featured on House Panthers, the day before, March 2, 2008.



Once a wee little kitten, Magoo has become a great Mancat. A terror to all who try to invade his territory. Master of all that he can survey from his deck.

I used Raspberry Road Designs' Mystic Winter freebie to give this piece a nice cold feeling, befitting his status as a snow lynx. The alphas were a freebie from Free Digital Scrapbooking.
