Solstice Freebie!

Litha, is the pagan Summer Solstice.  This sabbat honors the longest day of the year.  The God is at the height of his powers, but it's also the day the battle between the new God and the old God begins, and by month's end, the old God will seen to be winning, as the days grow shorter and the world spins towards winter.

Most cultures of the Northern Hemisphere mark Midsummer in some ritualized manner and from time immemorial people have acknowledged the rising of the sun on this day. At Stonehenge, the heelstone marks the midsummer sunrise as seen from the centre of the stone circle.

While this is a fire festival, everything is green and growing and the crops are ripening in the fields.

The best rituals to perform on Midsummer are those dealing with masculine issues, masculine energies, or issues dealing with solar influence.  This is the time to formalize any relationship and couples that have been together a year and a day since the previous Beltane can make their marriage final. This Sabbat is also an excellent time to re-new wedding vows.

This beautiful pagan themed digital scrap kit is full of green growth and nature, a beautiful dance in the forest.  It comes with 12 (3600 x 3600 pixel) .jpg papers, and 40 .png elements as well as one Earth Elemental poser.

Joyous Beltane!

Beltane is the last of the three spring fertility festivals, the others being Imbolc and Ostara. It is the second principal Celtic festival (the other being Samhain), celebrated approximately halfway between Vernal (spring) equinox and the midsummer (Summer Solstice). Beltane traditionally marked the arrival of summer in ancient times.

Beltane, and its counterpart Samhain, divide the year into its two primary seasons, winter (Dark Part) and summer (Light Part). As Samhain is about honoring Death, Beltane, its counter part, is about honoring Life. It is the time when the sun is fully released from his bondage of winter and able to rule over summer and life once again.

Modern day pagan observances of Beltane include the maypole dances, bringing in the May, and jumping the cauldron for fertility. Many couples wishing to conceive children will jump the cauldron together at this time. Fertility of imagination and other varieties of fertility are invoked along with sexual fertility. In Wiccan and other Pagan circles, this is a joyous day, full of laughter and good times.

This gorgeous little scrap kit brings you everything you need to scrap out your Beltane festivities.  It comes with 15 (3600 x 3600 pixel, .jpg) papers and 40 .png elements, plus one fire element poser.

You are getting 3 flowers, 3 bows, 2 decos, 2 frames, 2 ribbons, 1 athame, 1 besom, 1 book of secrets, 1 brad, 1 candle, 1 cauldron, 1 chalice, 1 color swirl, 1 dream catcher, 1 fire, 1 fire line, 1 flame butterfly, 1 flower scatter, 1 full moon, 1 grass border, 1 hat, 1 leaves, 1 mask, 1 May pole, 1 old grove, 1 pentagram, 1 phoenix, 1 plant, 1 stars, 1 sun, 1 tag, 1 taurus sparkles, 1 unicorn, and 1 wand.
