Honeysuckle Rose

Honeysuckle Rose

My mother's major contribution to my education was teaching me to swim. I was otherwise raised by my Grandmother (and my mother will tell you that, if you ask.)

She did not take us to the beach however, preferring to send us to hated summer camp, while she went to the beach without us. So hard to find male companionship to party with when you've got kids in tow.

Still, I'll likely be able to survive a Tsunami, as I'm a strong swimmer. So, for my Mother's Day contribution this year, I've come up with this lovely beach themed digital scrap kit.

Looking for a great beachy themed full size kit? Well, your ticket to paradise is right here with his beautiful scrap kit.

10 papers and 44 elements are included for you to scrap your favorite seaside - or swimming - memories. Inside, you will find: 2 orchids, 2 ribbons, 2 seashells, 2 word arts, 1 beach towel, 1 boat, 1 bottle, 1 bow, 1 bucket, 1 cabana ,1 cloud, 1 crab, 1 deckchair, 1 dolphin, 1 flag, 1 flip flops, 1 flower deco, 1 flower string, 1 flowers, 1 frame, 1 grass, 1 knot, 1 lantern, 1 leaves, 1 life preserver, 1 mom chain, 1 palm tree, 1 porthole, 1 postcard, 1 sand dune, 1 sand castle, 1 spade, 1 starfish, 1 summer cutie, 1 summer drink, 1 sun chain, 1 sun, 1 umbrella, 1 waves, and 1 wind.

300 DPI. Personal use only.

Winter Solstice

I FINALLY finished my portion of the Scrapper's Secret Grand Opening Collab. This is a part of the collab you'll be able to get your hot little hands on starting November 27th:

Winter Solstice

My computer absolutely did not want to cooperate with me on this one. LOL.

I hope you like it. It should give you something to look forward to! :)

Vine Line

My cat, Miss Diamond, has a very soft meow, but for some reason, I can always hear her. I can be in the bedroom with the door closed and the air conditioner running and still hear her meow when she wants to come in. And it's more like "Mau", but...

I'm told cat's have superior hearing to ours and superior sense of smell as well. I had gotten up late last night to take some pain meds, and finish up the paperwork on the Winter Solstice kit and heard her ask to come in. As soon as I got up and walked to the door, Tristan, my tabby, goes romping past, chatting up a storm...

"Oh! I need to go out! I need to check the storm drain! I need to go check the canal! I need to go..."

I knew Miss Diamond was on the other side of that door and when I opened it, Tris as going to be in her face and she would not like that and I told him but he was so busy rambling on he wouldn't listen.

The look of surprise on his face when I opened the door and he saw the Demon Cat in front of him was priceless. I scooted him off to the left hand side of the door, but she still manage to get a claw or two into him.

They do love each other, she just doesn't like him getting in her face.

On a side note I was totally disgusted by the story of Sticky the Cat, who was found, wrapped from tail to neck in duct tape in a yard in Pennsylvania. Miss Diamond reports over at Diamond's Lair. Really makes me wish I could divorce myself from the human race.

Coming soon: Ghosts - and lots of 'em!

These tags are from a new PTU kit I've been designing called "Ghost Stories". It's nearly complete, but there's a couple or three more things I want to do with it before I pack it up and send it to the stores.

Medi was sort of the muse for this one with her little Lexi poser. Lexi you see, loves spooky stories. She loves reading them and telling them. And she loves ghosts especially.

Ghost Stories 1
"Looking Fur" alpha by Heaven Dreams

She has little ghosts all over her room and haunted candles and the like. She's seen every episode of Ghost Hunter on TV and can tell you the location of all the major haunted houses - not that she's ever been to one.

Ghost Stories 2
"Bones" alpha courtesy of Free Digital Scrapbooking.

But what she wants most of all is to meet a real "live" honest-to-God ghost. Or would that be a real dead....er never mind.

So this kit was done along that theme and it has a lot of ghosts and skeletons in it. And haunted things, like a haunted delivery van...

Ghost Stories 3
Alpha by BeDeSigns.

...and a haunted mirror, or two.

This has been a really fun kit to develop. I know, I know...you probably can't wait to get you hands on it. But believe me, it will be worth the wait.

Ghost Stories 4
Spooky Face Alpha by Nutshell Creations.

Not that none of the alphas used in the tags are part of the kit. They're just for tagging purposes only.

Thanks again to Medi for adorable little cookie creation! Have fun and hey - don't be afraid of no ghosts, okay?

Freaky Frankie

I've seen sitting here procrastinating because I've finally found something I dislike more than word art and previews combined: my annual flu shot.

I've now decided I can put this off until Tuesday. ;P

In the meantime, I've been working on a new kit, which is going to be called "Freaky Frankie's Birthday Bash". This was not at all what I had envisioned.

Freaky Frankie

When Jessica from Gothic Inspirations released her Gothic Elements Grab Bag 2, she included in it a lot of mad scientist stuff like syringes and surgical masks. At first this puzzled me, but the truth is, that stuff really does scare me. Let's face it, I hate doctors.

So I said, Well, maybe I'll do a Frankenstein kit and I did sit down to work on it, but...Frankie evidently had other ideas.

He wanted to celebrate his birthday instead and so I've ended up with a Halloween/Birthday kit. Which is great. Frankie's not the only one who celebrates their birthday in October. I do too. And frankly (please pardon the pun) this is right up my alley.

Dance Frankie, Dance!

Except maybe for the disco stuff. Come on Frankie - dance, dance!

The fact that maybe I lurch around a lot like Frankenstein might have something to do with it as well. And I couldn't help throwing in some Grim Reaper stuff as I get ready to celebrate being older than dirt.

I'm still working on some tweaks, but I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Bat, rats and all.

Summer Camp Wilderness - from me to you!

Camp Tippy Canoe photo DCD_CampTippyCanoe_TS.png

Summer Camp - love it or hate it. For some, it is a right of passage. For others...well, let's just say I'm a city girl. Either way Camp Tippy Canoe delivers summer camp wilderness right to your computer!

This great mix of realistic and whimsical elements starts off with 20 Outdoorsy Papers (800 x 800 pxls, .jpg format). Add to that 10 frames and 5 tags plus an additional 91 .png elements, and you have everything you need to re-live summer memories...or make some new ones.

Packed inside your camp backpack you'll find 5 doodle yarns, 5 paperclip bows, 5 stringbows, 4 forest trees, 4 houseflies, 4 spiders (including Shelob), 4 logs, 3 grass borders, 3 sticker cabins, 3 froggers, 3 squirrels, 2 stones, 2 ants (1 red, 1 black), 2 blue flower bushes, 2 dragonflies, 2 tent stickers, 2 vines, 2 snakes, 2 plants, 1 frog, 1 snailhouse, 1 backpack doodle, 1 camp bus, 1 canoe, 1 cardinal, 1 dandelion seed, 1 dandelion, 1 draft horse (Dotty), 1 evergreen tree, 1 pair of field gasses, 1 grasshopper, 1 ivy vine, 1 ladybug, 1 little bird, 1 raven, 1 songbird, 1 tire swing, 1 tree stump and axe, 1 wildflower clump, 1 water lily, 1 deer, 1 bedroll, 1 campfire and 8 stickers (2 councilors, 2 campers, and 4 survival items).

But beware of the insects because the only thing you won't find...is Off!

300 DPI. Personal use only. Thanks to Digiweb Studio for the artwork used in the creation of this design.

There's actually a lot my memories in this kit. The first camp I ever went to - I was six at the time - and there was a draft horse there named Dotty that pulled a big wagon that we took a hay ride in. There were two horses, actually, but I only remember the name of the one (probably because she stepped on my foot).

It was a weekend camp and I was sharing a tent with four other girls. Someone left the tent flap unzipped and we got back to the tent it was filled with spiders! The other girls had learned to grab the daddy long legs and toss them, so they were de-spidering the tent when this HUGE fuzzy black wolf spider crawled up the tent wall from out of one of the sleeping bags. The other girls gave me the flashlight and told me to keep an eye on it while they went for the councilor. I don't know how long they were gone - probably not that long - but that spider climbed up the tent wall and then started working it's way across the tent ceiling toward me - which is when I freaked out and started screaming.

The councilor got there real fast with a rag, grabbed the thing and hurled it into the woods. Need I say, I didn't sleep at all that night as I was quite certain there were more spiders in the blankets! My dad came and got me the next morning. He was my hero!

It's taken me a long, long, long time to get over my fear of spiders.

After my folks got divorced, my mother would send my sister and I to camps every summer for a week. While we were gone she'd then take a week's vacation to Arizona. I didn't catch on to this scheme until I was like 11 or 12 - which was the end of my going to the hated summer camps.

I would MUCH rather have gone to the beach!

This kit has been retired and is available for FREE elsewhere on this blog!

Here's a couple of tags I did last night using the kit. The Military Pride posers are from MediEvil Creations, while the Camo alphas are courtesy of Free Digital Scrapbooking.

All Decked Out

 photo DCD_AllDeckedOut_TS.png

Shortly after I got my first job and was working full time, my mother went through this phase where she wanted to cook out. Every Day. All Summer. And I was the one doing the cooking.

Rain or shine, didn't matter - out the door I went with the daily offerings to the great God Grill.

Need I say, I became, over the course of time, a grilling expert?

I do like Bar-B-Que as much as anyone, but prefer to reserve it for special occasions, like I when I've got friends over.

With that in mind, I put together my latest kit called "All Decked Out", which includes - among other things - my fantasy deck setting complete with a George Foreman Gas Grill.

I have a grill, mind you, but it's the old fashioned kind that burns charcoal.

The darker colors remind of me of my backyard which is shaded by a large - and relatively rare - Banyon Tree. It's the only one in the neighborhood and it's the sort of tree that - if I was a kid - would just beg me to climb it.

You'll notice the patriotic colors, since most of the cookout seem to center around the holidays of Memorial Day, 4th of July and Labor Day. What's in the kit, you ask?
I've included 12 ribbons and 12 bows, 8 frames and 8 wraps, 6 Flowers, 6 Fireworks, 4 Paper Plates, 4 crumples paper tags, 3 planters, 3 grass borders, 2 Chinese lamps, 1 hanging lamp, 2 Patio Chairs, a table, a BBQ Grill, a trellis, a birdhouse, 1 bottle of wine and 2 wine glasses, a football for the guys to kick around, a cardinal, a ginger tabby cat and a selection of unwanted insect visitors that no cook out would be complete without.

(And no cheesy plastic stuff mind, It's all nice wood!)

I'd already put this out under the working name of "Deck Party" and was working on a tag using the kit for Miss Diamond for today when I came up with the name "All Decked Out". So I went back and made some modifications, and changed the kit to include the fireworks as well. This works much better, IMHO.

Here is the tag I did for Miss Diamond:

All Decked Out

The "Young Stars" alpha is not part of the kit, but it can be download (for free) from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

And here's a tag using the same kit for my handsome Tabby boy:

In Tristan We Trust

I think he'd look much better on a one dollar bill than old Georgie boy, don't you agree?

Note: This kit has been retired and is available for FREE elsewhere on this blog!
