Steaming into stores soon...

I've done two Steampunk kits previously - Clockwork Angel, which is pure Steampunk - and Verity, which was Gothic with Steampunk overtones. Almost no one paid attention. Earlier this week, one of my fellow designers ran a ISO for CU Steampunk junk and suddenly the whole digi-scrap world has gone Steampunk mad.

Many, many, many years ago, when I was in my twenties, I used to spend the weekends at a friends house where, prior to the birth of their two children, we spent many hours playing games. One such game, and the name escapes me, involved the worlds of H.G. Wells and Jules Vernon and was Steampunk at its best as it had the players trying to come up with reasonably working sci-fi solutions in a Victorian environment.

I rather enjoyed it and I'm guessing it was more fun for MJ than watching me and her husband battle it out over Kingmaker into the wee hours of the morning.

Any way...coming up (and loading at a speedy 18KBs per second to S-S) is my latest dip in to the realm of Steampunk, which takes advantage of all the new CU Steampunk stuff out there, plus the fact that Nicole Perry was having a 50% off sale and I'm such a Nicole Perry 'ho, so....

I took Steampunk and mixed in some Industrial overtones and I present...Gaslight.

Much more my speed thank pink Happy-Go-Shit kits although Jess does have a point. I do cute real well. It's kind of disgusting, in a way.

He grouses about it being too hot. Seriously? Did real pirates complain about the heat all the time?

Yeah. Probably. They were just men, after all.

SSLisa came up with this beautiful little Goth girl for me to play with, and while she would have worked well with the guilt kit, I thought I might do something a bit for Vintage for her.



And of course my initial plan had been to put on some Disturbed and rock this, but my arthritis has flaired up, making it a bit hard for me to focus. So it will probably be a little while before I get this done.

Jess recently held another tut gone wrong competition and Sarah really got me going with her Beauty of the Atomic Wasteland tag. So I'm back to urban blight again.

Besides it suites my current mood.



This kit is going to be exclusive to Mystical Scraps and is called Atomic Dawn. The posers are from Sky Scraps'Damiana 1 pack and will not be included in the kit.



Not sure when this will get finished, probably by this weekend. So keep an eye out!

Temple of Quetzalcoatl

I had this bright idea of doing a Mayan/Aztec theme as I don't think it's been done. Not much out there and I'm fairly sure the poser was meant to be native American and not Mayan, but um...she'll do, I think.

Mayan dress was a bit more elaborate, I think, not that I'm any expert.





And this after I did that one pyramid for the Alcapulco Buny kit. I said "never again". Must be never, 'cause I'm doing one again. LOL!

Pirates anyone?

Rebel Rebel

I did these two tags using a kit I'm currently working on called Rebel Rebel. It's very a punk-girly-anarchy type kit.



The first tag uses one of Marie's Goth Chic poser. The matching Goth Chic alpha - used in both tags - is courtesy of Whispy's Dzigns.

The little skull bag sachet caused me as spot of trouble this week. I'd bought a CU pack of them from Missy Lynn, but when I was doing something for Jill in Admin, I noticed they were now marked Personal Use only. As it turned out, Missy had used an action by Monica Larson to create them and had mis-read the TOU. She could not use the action CU4CU, so she couldn't sell the bags as commercial use products.

I'd already used them in several kits and rather like them and wanted to keep using them, so I went and bought the action and got Missy Lynn's permission to more or less copy her design. So, everyone is happy now and I get to use the little bags.



The artwork in this one is Sky's Lana and I just adore the whole pack she did of these. Had to have them. Fabulous stuff, right?

Rebel Rebel should be available sometime during this coming week at Scraps in the City. Still waiting on the contracts, but once those are all signed, we're good to go.

A new tutorial from Linda at Tagcatz using me Addicted to Rac kit. She said she "loved the kit and this was a fun one to do." Well, we do try to make it fun!

I had actually wanted to do a "Toxic Green" kit when I did the Emo one last weekend, but couldn't find a pallet I like for it. I'm not sure I'm head over heels with this one, but it will do. ;)
