Snow Cats (& Dogs) - Week 1, Part 1

My initial work on the Snow Cats project started back in October when I was starting to burn out on Halloween scrapping. At the time, I'd done tags for Spooky Do, Miss Peach, Vampy Victor, Momo and Earl Grey, which I think I already posted. However...

Miss Peach



I used the "Ice Princess" taggers kit from Cinnamon Scraps, which is still one of the nicer winter themed kits to be released this year. The "Baby It's Cold Outside" alpha is from Karyn Clarke (Designs by Karyn) and was a freebie add on for her PTU kit of the same name.

Vampy Victor



The "I Love Snow" kit provided a lot of scraps for my layouts, It's the second of the Holiday themed kits released by Candy's Treats. The "Snow Outline" alpha is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

I didn't have a lot of winter alphas at the time. The "I Love Snow" kit has a "Icy Snow Font" alpha, but that was released as FTU add on later and was not available when I was doing these tags.

MoMo



Much like Victor, Momo is down under but she's never seen the snow at all, from what she says.

I used the Ice Maiden kit by Art Pharty which I paid a buck for. Any more would have been too much. It's very clip art heavy and the remaining scraps aren't all that exciting. I had to add in additional snow flakes from Baby Cakes Scraps to make it work, which includes the big blue flake overlay that is superimposed over Mo-Mo.

Once again, I used the "Baby It's Cold Outside" alpha from Designs by Karyn. The funny thing is, once I started getting new winter alphas, I forgot about that one, and just re-discovered that I had it last week. That's why I'm thinking I need to start separating the alphas into theme sub folders.

Icy Earl Gray



This is the same set up as the tag for Miss Peach, with the scraps from Cinnamon Scraps and the Alpha from Designs by Karyn.

Spooky Do



The "Winterland" taggers kit from Soxsational Scraps provided the scraps while the alpha was from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

This wouldn't have been a bad layout, except I felt the need to paint in Spooky's flashed out eyes, and in the end, I didn't like the result. So...I redid a tag for him, using a different, more recent photo this weekend, so now we have...



Spooky Do taking a walk through a Winter Wonderland. The scraps this time around came from the FTU "Christmas Cheer" taggers kit from Kittz Kreations, while the "Icy Alpha" came from Bits'N'Bobs.

He still has the laser headlights on, but I decided to leave well enough along this time around.

Talkin' Turkey (Part VI) - Final Installment

Strangely enough, these were the first tags I did. All the others followed afterwards. At the time that I started this project "Let's Give Thanks" and "Gobble, Gobble" were to two main Fall/Thanksgiving themed kits I had. It's amazing what I managed to acquire shortly there after.

The Scraps are from Queen Brat's "Gobble, Gobble" taggers kit; the "Painted Fall Alpha" is from Tempus Fugit.

I'm thinking I might have to sort my alphas General and seasonal pretty soon, I've collected quite a few of them. But then, I don't believe you can have too many alphas.

Gandalf



These scraps are also from the "Gobble, Gobble" taggers kit. In this case, the Alpha is the "Halloween Stitched Fall Alpha" from Raspberry Road Designs.

Speedy



I used Scrappy Lover's "Let's Give Thanks" taggers kit for the next three tags.

As per the above post on Sugar, the "Painted Fall Alpha" is by Tempus Fugit.

Kellie the Orange Cat

The alpha on this tag is courtesy of Karla Marano. Tom Turkey, that Stryder is dreaming about, is from Tiffany Kennedy at Scrappiles of Digistyle.

Tomorrow, we start with winter and Snow Daze (Part 1). Tonight, I just want to go home and start creating with the newly released Fairy Dreams in the Winter kit from Urban Mermaid. And for once in my life, I'm not even going to complain about the price!

Abigail



Abigale is another of the "Turkey Cats". The scraps are from the Fall Freebie by Imperfoxtion Designs. The "tattered" alpha is by KittyCat Designs. The turkey is from Digi Cyber Scraps and the Arrow is from Sweet Blossom Designs.

Pete underfeet



This little cuttie is from the Purrchance to Dream blog. The Scraps are from the "Let's Give Thanks" taggers kit from Scrappy Lover, while the Autumn Alpha is from Cindy Lea.

Pumpkin



Poor Pumpkin. He always gets made into cake, muffins, etc, at this time of the year. The Pumpkin Pie Mini-kit is by Joni Gray, with additional flowers from Scrappiles of Digistyle. The Halloween Stitched Felt Alpha is from Raspberry Road Designs.

Badge & Guest List



The scraps for the badge including the little chef poser came from Brandi's Creations "In the Kitchen" kit. It's a freebie and was actually kind of cute.

Sunny the Gravy



Sonny's nickname is "Gravy" so, this was of course a play on it. The Scraps came from the "Give Thanks" Blog Train, while the Hollow Alpha is from AllieKat Creations.

Rocky the Turkey Cat



Rocky was an adopted stray but he does have all the earmarkings of being a member of the Turkish Van breed, including his size.

The Scraps for this piece came from the Autumn Blessings kit by Sticky Kisses. The "Stitched Felt Halloween Alpha" is from Raspberry Road Designs.

Reggie



Reggie is a member of the "Turkey Cats", and they threw their own two day Thanksgiving blog party.

The scraps came from the "Autumn's Splendor" kit by Butterfly Hollow Creations, except for the turkey, which is from Scrappiles of Digistyle. The Wheat Alpha is courtesy of Digi-Cyber Scraps.

Misty Whispurrs



One of our blog buddies from Xanga and a big fan of Miss Diamond, Misty is a Scottish Fold cat, so her ears are turned down, as you can see.

The scraps are from the Jive Turkey kit by Toni's Scraparoni, while the Everescents Alpha is by Sweet Digi-Scraps.

Mosaic Dog & Titus





These two tags were done as a "couple" as Leah the Mosaic Dog and Titus are a "Cyber couple". I can't really explain it and thought it was silly at first until Diamond fell in love with Zed Monster and I STILL can't explain it. But they suit each other.

In any case, the Scraps are from Queenbrat's "Gobble, Gobble" taggers kit. The Painted Fall Alpha is by Tempus Fugit. I figured I should get this finished up as the fall kits are going to be retired soon, so....

Mr. Hendrix the Kitty



Mr. Hendrix is a Bengals fan, so the football tie in was a natural for him. I used the "Jive Turkey" taggers kit from Toni's Scraparoni for the scraps. The Stitched Felt Alpha is from Raspberry Road Designs.

Maggy & Zoey



It almost looks like they're watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade!

"Turkey Lurkey" was a freebie from Sakb's Scraps. The rest of the scraps are from Scrappy Lover's "Knowledge is Power" taggers kit. The "Hot Brass" alpha is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Anne from Zoolatry was the one who told me to start doing a badge and posting it on Cat Blogosphere. I don't usually credit these however...

The turkey and the background are from Crops 2 Dawn Creations. The Autumn Alpha is by Cindy Lea. I though the turkey was pretty cute so, I just thought I'd mention it.

Fae Day

Diane at Candy's Treats put out to very lovely new kits yesterday - Jingle Bells and Moonlight. I bought them from her blog store and while I was waiting for them to come, I was playing with some of her other kits.

I couldn't come up with any word art for this yesterday, but in retrospect, I do have some I downloaded this weekend that would have worked. Oh well...

The poser is from the "Crush" pack from Untamed Angel and the scraps are from the Kirisue taggers kit by Candy's Treats.

Teal & Gold



The poser/fae is from Outlaw by Designs, from her free download section. The scraps are from the Missy taggers kit by Candy's Treats, except for the gold splat, which is from Calypso Designs.

I mean, she had a teal and a charcoal splat in the kit, why not a gold one?

Paper Fae



Luminiere is a new FTU fae from Sophisticated Scraps. There are 8 tubes in the set which you can get off Lisa's blog.

The Scraps are from the Cloudy Skies taggers kit from Candy's Treats. I like this so much I that I decided to do a piece with Diamond. So I selected and image and started taking the background out. Then I decided it need to be lightened so I hit auto adjust and...

Fairyland



Diamond equates it to living in Wonderland. One minute you're napping peacefully on the bed, the next minute you've been turned purple and are first cousin to the Cheshire Cat.

The Purple Coat alpha is from ScrapAlpha. The glitter doodles are FTU from the Calypso Design blog.

Summer Sun



The Goldie Poser is (c) Perfect Poser. The Scraps are from DMK Designs from the Summer Party taggers kit. The glitter splats are from Calypso Designs, and the Gratitude Alpha is courtesy of Digi-Designs by Nicole.

I think this another one of Auntie Evie's ravers, although again, Charly classes her as fantasy. Perfect has put out a couple of interesting sets of late, but given that I'm tight of funds in December, they're not high my list of things to get.

I got the DMK kit from one of the Black Friday sales, and it was actually a really nice pick up for some loose change.

I really like the Batilda imp from Lacy Clagg. I was able to pick her up on sale for $2.00, which made me quite happy.

She's sort of mischievous little imp, so the fun feel to the scraps really worked on the tag.

The scraps are from the Goth Glam kit by Toni's Scraparoni. This was one of the kits I wanted from her that I picked up on the Black Friday sale.

The Silver Twilight alpha is from Amber Gray Designs.

Broken



Sort of a segue off but still in the Goth/Goth lite area, I got this rather interesting poser from Outlaw by Design and had to do something with her. After fussing around for a while, I settled on the Heartbreaker kit from Candy's Treats.

The Alpha is called "VintageLicious" and it's from Delicious Scraps.

This is Tristan's Certified Witch's Cat tag. The Witch and the Candle are both from Outlaw by Designs. Sheltie Sleigh Ride



This was a little tag for Tiffany over at Scrappiles of Digistyle, who also owns the Shelties in the picture. She designed Rudy, the Christmas Tree, the snowflakes and the word art that were used in the piece. The rest of the scraps are from an "Old Fashioned Christmas" by Soxsational Scraps. The Green Flake Alpha was from Scrappin' Cop.

The snowflake overly was from Timkova, and I could really use several more.

Normally I'd make the Shelties pull the sleigh, but since she's already got Rudy to do that...

Helly Xmas



The Taggers Christmas Blog Train rolled out yesterday, as did four or five other blog trains, and Designs by Helly gave us an add on to her "Dear Santa" kit, which is the one I used on my blog layout for the month.

The elf and the frame are both from Outlaw by Design, part of the new freebies just posted this last week. The Winter Alpha is from Andjelina's Desgins.

There is an alpha that came with the "Dear Santa" kit, but I love the Andjelina one, and felt it went better with the piece. Andjelina has some lovely Christmas kits too, but I've been restraining myself on the basis that I don't need to buy full sized Christmas kits! (And despite the fact that I'm not a big fan of Collabs, Ahhh Scrap "Let it Snow" December Collab kit looks fabulous as well!)

Sadie Noel



I do so love the little Sadie Elf who is (c) by Calypso Designs. I used Krissy's "Snowel" taggers kit for this one, as well as the Andjelina Designs' "Winter Alpha".

Helly Peace



Another really pretty kit is the "Peace on Earth" mini-kit from Designs by Helly. The fairy (angel?) in the piece is from Outlaw by Designs, as is the bell in the background.

I figure that not being around my family for the holidays is in fact, promoting peace on earth.

Fairy Merry Christmas



The lovely Christmas Fae is from Outlaw by Designs. I used the Christmas Thyme taggers kit by Krissy's Scraps for the layout.

It's kind of a perspective piece, to show you how tiny a fairy can be in relationship to a Christmas tree blub.

The "Christmas Dot" alpha is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Also using the Christmas Thyme kit is this tag, which also uses a doll from the two doll set by the same name:



I took advantage of the Weekend sales to pick up a few more of Krissy's dolls, the Christmas Thyme set among them. She then turned around and released a new set on Monday.

Cats on Tuesday: In thru the out door

Having learned the existence of two doors in the house, Tristan likes to use them both...the front one to go out and the back one to come in. He rarely comes in the front one, but if I refuse to let him out the front door, he will sometimes appeal to the back door the right to go outside. This usually results in my hissing at him as we can argue "no" until the earth stands still.

Diamond on the other paw only uses the front door. The back door is only used on special occasions, like when we are bar-b-queing on the patio.

Tristan usually spends most of the day inside. when I get home at night he expects to be fed, eats and then asks to be let out. Half an hour later, he will want to come back in, usually meowing at the back door for entrance. Sometimes he'll scratch a the glass, but he usually vocalizes when he wants in or out.

He'll come in an munch down on any left overs from dinner - he's a chow hound, Diamond eats at much more sedate pace - then will head over the front door and ask to be let out again.

So I get more exercise these days, acting as doorman for a tabby cat!

I've not posted this one yet. I thought to use it on his blog to day, but as the "Tris-mas" carol was "Blue Tris-mas" I felt I needed to do something blue so...



I ran him through the photoshop color filter and low and behold, we have a blue, blue Tristan although his brown coat doesn't take to blue as well as to other colors. The Scraps used in the layout are from the Winter Wonderland taggers kit, a FTU pressie from Designs by Ali off her blog.

A few odd tags

Once I got past plushie mania, I spent most of the weekend tagging cats and dogs on either winter or holiday themes. Maybe I'll get back to some poser tags tonight and finish up some projects I was working on.

Bite Me



Diane at Candy's Treats had her Heartbreaker kit up for a long time as a blog special. I guess I'm going to have to start buying off her blog, as I certainly can't buy her stuff on Taggers Scraps if it won't let me check out.

In any case, she finally retired it and put it up as a freebie which I was MORE than happy to snag.

The tube is from Lacy Clagg and is one of her freebies. Unfortunately it was a one tube deal, but I certainly get a giggle out of it.

Blue Jean Baby



The "doll" poser is another freebie from Lacy. It's kind of similar to the popular Bratz toy line, and is obviously not intended to be realistic. I'm not much of a doll type person, but this just sort of fit in with the Blue Jean Baby kit by Toni's Scraparoni which I had bought with the intention of doing Western tags.

I picked up a lot of western themed material over the past several days so when I do settle down to Western tags again...LOOK OUT! LOL.

The cat bag was was a freebie but the info file that came with it is corrupted, so now I don't know where I got them from. There were four in the set, and they're all cute.

The Bandana Alpha was from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

Shmily Fae



I'd downloaded the Shmily blog train, but haven't done much with it. I put Helly's contribution off into the Helly folder as a mini-kit instead of leaving it with the collab.

The Fae is from Outlaw by Design - one of her free to use pieces, and the scraps are for the Helly's Shmily mini-kit.

There are two or three Holiday themed blog trains that launched today, but I'm so overloaded on Holiday stuff right now, I'm only grabbing from the designers I follow on a regular basis, Helly being one of them.

Since she kindly put her stuff on sale at Cotton Candy, I was able to get the her new BBF kit (in taggers size), plus the Fallen kit, which I'd somehow missed, and several of her older tagger kits. I'm not saying I own ALL of her kits, but I'd say I've got a pretty good chunk of them.

Outlaw has just put some new freebie stuff up, so if you haven't checked her out recently, do so. Holiday scraps are included in the new material.

Dragon Fae



I got the Jade Dragon Taggers kit by Baby Cake Scraps on sale at Aussie Scraps. I've wanted this for a while and just never got around to getting it.

The Peacock Fae is (c) by Perfect Posers, also available at Aussie Scraps. The dragon came in the kit.

Jade Princess



Same kit, different poser. The Elven Princess poser is (c) by KairinaKat Kreations, and I got it over at Creative Scraps for like a buck. I don't usually shop there, which probably explains how I'd overlooked the set for this long.
