Hunter

black cat

Hunter was a four-year-old when he was adopted as a companion of Mei Lin, a Meezer, two years ago. His full name is Cashmere Growlypants Hunter, which he says is a very fancy name for not a fancy breed of cat.

Personally, I think a domestic is just as good, if not better than any Meezer, but your milage may vary.

He now shares the house with Raowr, Bella and Napoleon. They all blog at My Pet's Pictures and Tails a.k.a. Pets are 4 Life.

I used Retrodiva's Bohemian Poetry kit on this although there are some added pieces from the rest of the Boho collection. I'm actually rather please with the way it turned out, considering I was searching for a design when I started.

A Mother's Love

Diamond with her "kitten".

"Oh," she says. "Why can't we use this for mothers day?"

Maybe we will.

This was done with Retrodiva's Bohemian Poetry kit.

Lovely Luna

black cat

Luna is a three year old domestic short hair that lives and works with the Cat Synth people in Santa Cruz creating beautiful music for kitty cats.

Luna's dad found her at their local animal shelter and it turned out to be mutually perfect match. She loves catnip, toy mousies and cuddling with her dad.

You can find out more about lovely Luna at Cat Synth, a very interesting blog on music, art, synthesizers and well...cats, of course.

I used the Another Bohemian Love Affair kit on this with a few additional elements and the alpha, of course, from the first Boho Love Affair kit. All by Retrodiva and available at their store.

Brainball and Chairman Mao

Cat

Brainball reminds me a lion. A big floofy lion, but a lion none the less.

A 9-year old Domestic long hair, his real name is Calamity Jake, but this big 16 pound mancat is also known as "Itty Bitty Widdy Kitty", "King Leonidas" and "Ol' Boy". He was abandoned when the family that he lived with moved away, and the Ballicus Cats took him in. He's the Alpha cat, and takes his position seriously. He loves to play with coffee stirrers, nap on the bed or in a pile of clean laundry or on his mom's feet or dad's lap.

He's an outstanding role model to the other cats at Ballicus - kind, benevolet, and strong. Sort of like a lion, right?

You can find him, along with Chairman Mao, DoryDoo and sometimes Marilyn at The Ballicus Blog.

Chairman Mao is a Seal Point Siamese/Snowshoe mix. At just one year old, he's the baby of the bunch. He enjoys playing, running round, talking and generally going spaztic around the place. He considers the whole house one great big kitty toy and tries to play with everything.

He showed up as a stray and lived in the garage for while before he was brought into the Ballicus Household proper. He's a good Diplocat and gets along with everyone, even Dory Doo, who can be a bit moody. He loves Brainball and tries to emulate his older brother.

The Chairman does most of the talking over at Ballicus, not surprising for one of Siamese Ancestry.

I used Scrap Girl's African Beat mega-kit for Brainball's layout, because well...I needed something Safari-ish. Mao's was done using Retrodiva's Fresh Start kit, perhaps appropriate for a young, active mancat.

Dory Doo

Dora the Explorer - or DoryDoo - is a 3-year-old Domestic short hair. She was brought to the Ballicus Cats when she was an 8-week-old kitten and has lived with them all her life.

She's a very smart kitty, and can open just about anything. If she just had opposable thumbs, there'd be no holding her back. She's a super jumper and practices the art of Air Dancing, a very athletic undertaking for any cat.

She loves chasing Mao and cuddling with Brainball, opening things, and figuring out things.

While she can be very affectionate, she needs more space than the other cats and more time to herself. She often seems to be deep in thought, as though she's contemplating the meaning of the universe, and perhaps she is.

Online, you can find Dora at The Ballicus Blog, along with Chairman Mao, Brainball, and sometimes Marilyn MonREOW, who has her own blog.

I used Retrodiva's Bohemian Collage kit on this layout, mainly because red and black just sort of go together.

The White Lion

The Lion Sleeps Tonight

Reptar is Lynn's (not Bobby's) cat, a 7-year-old domestic short hair male. He was named for the fictional dinosaur in the animated Rugrats series.

Much like his humans, Reptar is a baseball fan and has been coming to Fort Myers Miracle baseball games since he was a 6-month-old kitten.

He was from a litter that the female who lived with the owner of a store Lynn was working at at the time had. He has two other white brothers that look exactly like him, and there was also a black and white female in the litter. Lynn occasionally still sees his brothers.

Lynn has at least two other cats. She seemed pleased with these pieces so she's supposed to send me pictures of the others.

Reptar's really a well behaved cat and not really a dinosaur at all. And yes, he can hear perfectly well - the noise at the ballgames bothers him quite a bit.

I used the African Beat kit from Scrap Girls on the top piece. Originally I had the feather under his paw and it looked like he as eating something, but I didn't have him laying on anything. So I changed it so he was on the letters.

The second piece uses the Bohemian Love Affair kit from Retrodiva, in part because I love working in black and white.

Rose Red

I'd finally got the Bohemian Collage and Bohemian Love Affair collections I'd been wanting from Retrodiva. This is uses the former. My main problem is that this particular piece is a background and not an overlay. I'm wondering if I could change that....

in any case, it's also sort of a practice piece for Mother's Day, which I need to start thinking about. In a completely unrelated move, earth day is also coming up....

Shadow

black cat

Shadow lives with three other cats: TT, Molly, and Fatty. They all blog at The Midadventures of Me. He is the only mancat in the group and strangely enough is also the calmest of the cats.

He nearly died when he was a tiny kitten in 2003. Some very mean people dropped off Molly and Shadow and their momcat and left them to take care of themselves. When their Humans found them, Shadow was so cold and hungry that he couldn't even lift his head. He was taken home and wrapped in a warm blanket and fed with sugar water until he could regain his strength. When his Human Mom couldn't look after Shadow, the Boy took care of him. Shadow has been devoted to The Boy ever since.

He loves catnip, but he will only accept it if it is on a plate or in a bowl. If it is just on the floor, he will ignore it. Shadow also loves to play with toy mousies and feather toys.

Shadow is polydactyl, having three extra toes on each of his front paws. Despite rumors to the contrary, not all Polydactals are related to Ernest Hemmingway's cats. Polydactalism is a naturally occurring defect due to close inbreeding amongst cats - most likely ship cats. Once it occurs in a bloodline however, it does breed true.

This layout was made with Retrodiva's Bohemian Love Affair and have to admit to being totally in love with the kit. It's available at Retrodiva.net or in the Boutique at Digital Freebies.

Parker Perfectly Pink

Parker Perfectly Pink

I'm not saying I've save the best cat until last, but the blog is called Perfectly Parker.

Nor are we implying in any way the Parker is finking on her fur-sibs by dressing her up in pink. No sir, I can't believe you'd even think that in the first place.

Parker is just pretty in pink. Parker is a five year old domestic shorthair. She was a stray with five(!) kittens that her "Daddy" found in an alley while he was working out of town. It took him several weeks of coaxing with food and a warm box before he was able to make friends with her.

They got the kittens in, got them vaccinated, spayed and neutered and adopted out to good home, but the tabby and white mother had become "Daddy's Girl". She went home with him - 400 miles to their Ohio residence where she was introduced to her sisters and brothers.

She still prefers human company over that of the other felines, and will show Diamond Doggie the "Paw of Death" if he gets into her space too much.

Parker would love to hear from you, so stop by her blog and leave her a comment on her latest post. You can meet the rest of the family while your there.

I used a mini-kit freebie called Girly-Girl along with the Aged Embossed Alpha, both of which were created by Marie Stones and distributed by Free Digital Scrapbooking.

The frame in the kit is from Retrodiva's Be mine freebie, the hearts are from Viannes Creative Designs' Mum Freebie.

This layout was done to an 8 x 10 standard and is suitable for printing, as were the layouts for the other members of her family.

Basically Grr

black cat

Graciously Grr? I Grr ever gracious? Thursday is Grr-Day (of course) and I HAD a mental image of what I wanted to do with this, but the kit didn't co-operate and so the piece went off in it's own direction. That happens sometimes.

I think the folks at Grr, Midnight and Cocoa are thinking of investing in a frame factory though, since they get a new piece out of me every week. I went and got a top loading scrapbook album at Walgreens to put Diamond's pieces in (at least, the ones I favor enough to print out).

I used the "New Beginnings" freebie from Raspberry Road Designs which is basically a New Year's Kit, but I liked the black and white. On a side note, Retrodiva.net is having a 50% off sale from now through the end of March, so I could get those Boho kits I've had my eye on and actually do what I wanted to the do for Grr before I got sidetracked...

Captain Jack

Capt Jack

Captain Jack is a domestic shorthair cat who is part of the Tuxedo Gang Hideout, even though technically, he's a bi-color (solid and white) cat. Tuxi Gang is pretty easy about who they let in. He lives with his Tabby brother Dante and two woofies, Samwise and Beaux.

This master Pirate is very demanding feline. He will meow and meow until he gets his way. He demands treats, food, water in his fountain, and to be let outside on the porch every day from the moment his Mommy or Daddy come home from day hunting.

You can find Captain Jack and Sir Dante over at Purrageous Pirates.

I used various items from a variety of kits on this one, including Free Digital Scrapbooking Retro Diva's Be Mine, and Shabby Princess' Urban Kiwi and Festival. It was created for Jack's Birthday, which is Mar. 17th.
