Around the World with Keira

Keira is (c) by KairinaKat Kreations and it's nice to have a regular poser as opposed to a Fae. (Although don't get me wrong, I love doing fairy tags. It's just a nice change of pace.)

Diane at Candy's Treats calls them "Pretties". In typical Southwest Florida style, I call them "Bonitas" which translates roughly to "pretties".

New York City

Bonitas,People & Places,Love or Lust,New York City

Bonitas,People & Places,Love or Lust,New York City

These first two tags use Urban Mermaid's "Scraps in the City - Samanatha" collection (including the Mini-kit add on). I was hoping for some snappy quotes from the movies, but Movie Database let me down. Or maybe the movie did, I don't know. In any case, it's not something I'm going to run right out and rent.

I have all the SitC kits because they were on sale for a buck each during dollar days at Ahhh Scrap. (UMD no longer sells that Ahhh Scrap.)

Hollywood

Bonitas,Hollywood,People & Places,Love or Lust

The scraps are from Soxsational Scraps' "Hollywood" kit. The black lower case alpha is from Dreams Fulfilled. I saw another Hollywood kit somewhere which I think was a better, but I can't locate it again, now. Obviously I want these to use on Miss Diamond, my little movie star.

Paris

Bonitas,Paris,People & Places,Love or Lust

The "Moulin Rouge" taggers kit from Designs by Helly was the source of the scraps, although I did get to add in some of the vintage stuff from Calypso Designs in the background. I'd love to go looking for some old vintage bits to use as scraps, but I can't take the walking at the big flea market, and I don't really want to drive out to North Fort Myers.

New York City (again)

Happy New Year,Bonitas,New York City,People & Places,Love or Lust

The place to be to welcome in the New Year! The scraps are from the Taggers Scraps New Year collab, pieces of which are for sale around the internet by the various designers involved. Visit Candy's Treats for a list of the designers involved. The word art is courtesy of Cupcake Sprinkles by Caitlin.

Christmas Angels

Brandi from Brandi's Creations had put out a "Christmas Gold" kit, which I forgot that I had, in part because I'd put it into the wrong directory. I've used bits and pieces of it in various layouts when I needed gold and kept meaning to do some tags with the posers. So...here we go:

Angels & Devils,Doll,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Kids Tags

The scraps are from the "Ice Warm" kit by Yarrow, except for the Glitter Brackets, which are courtesy of Designs by Helly. The Scripted Jewel alpha is by Bizee Digi-Art.

The little angel, which reminds me a great deal of the "Precious Moments" figurines, is (c) by Brandi's Creations, which goes for all the posers in the tags in this post. I'm gonna be really disappointed if I ever find out that angels are really cute little things like this one.

Angels & Devils,Doll,Holiday Glitter,Happy Holidays,Kids Tags

Again, I'm using the "Ice Warm" taggers kit but I grabbed some paper from Yarrow's "Xmas Freebie", which has gold in it (and green). These are bits that never made it to any of her Holiday themed kits.

I'm making myself use PSPx, as it's the only way I'm going to learn it, and saving tags as transparent .png is one of reasons for working in PSP. When I try it in Photoshop, even when I click the save transparency box, I seem to loose that, and I don't know why.

This particular piece was also an experiment with filters as I used the "erode" filter on the gold paper, and then the "mosaic glass" to get the effect. I thought it turned out kind of interesting looking.

The gold alpha is from Andjelina's Designs.

Ahhh Scraps has a very interesting little Naughty or Nice freebie, except I can't seem to get a link for it? Perhaps I wasn't nice enough for the coal, or naughty enough for the gifts?

Angels & Devils,Doll,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Kids Tags

Angel number three uses the same scraps as per the above source, but I was doing nothing fancy here. The "White Christmas" Alpha is by Delicious Scraps.

Angels & Devils,Plushies,Teddy Bear,Snowman,Holiday Glitter,Happy Holidays,Peace Globe,Kids Tags

The little angel bear is also part of the "Christmas Gold" kit. I stuck with Yarrow for the scraps, going with her "Xmas Night" kit although the star is from the "Ice Warm" taggers kit. The silver sequin spill I borrowed from the "O Christmas Tree" taggers kit by Candy's Treats, while the "Peace" word art is courtesy of Bekah E.

Angels & Devils,Plushies,Teddy Bear,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Kids Tags

Third time charm? I re-did this little tag three times before I was finally happy with it. It also uses the "Xmas Night" taggers kit by Yarrow. The Lolly is courtesy of Candy's Treats - it's part of a freebie set she put out - while the Wire Word Art is from Bekah E.

Angels & Devils,Plushies,Teddy Bear,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Kids Tags

This time the lolly came with the kit - which is the "Grungy Xmas" taggers kit from Yarrow. The bling on the bottom is from the Ice Warm kit.

Quilla Two

Quilla Blue was a two piece freebie from KairinaKat Kreations. In both tags the scraps are from "A Sweet Gothorian Princess" by Chaos Priestess.

Fairies,Fantasy,Unicorn

The Unicorn in this tag is from Graffix 4 All, which seems to have vanished off the internets these days. The Scripted Jewels alpha is from Bizee Digi-Art (who has something on their blog that caused my browser to freeze up.)

Fairies,Fantasy

The moon in this case is one of the pre-decorated ones from a CU template by Chaos Priestess. I'd actually decorated my own - in Photoshop - but when I saved it, the transparency went bye-bye. I hate when that happens. As I didn't care to mess with it any more last night, I went with the pre-decorated one.

PSP is so much easier to work with, but I still can't figure out the "fill with a pattern" or "fill with transparency" which I know can be done. I THOUGHT I understood it, but I think I need to go back and re-read that part of the book again.

Once I get paid again, I need to go back to buying the kits from CP that I don't have, as I really like her work. Digital Chaos is still my favorite place to shop online.

KairinaKat also put a bunch of Commercial Use vintage valentine clip art on Creative Scraps for sale that I need to pick up. Valentine's Day is definitely NOT my holiday, but it does provide for a lot of scrapping ops with the kitty cats.

On a side note, did you see this story in the news: 'Santa' opens fire at Calif. party; 3 dead

Shouldn't have given him a gun for Christmas
Shouldn't have given him a gun, gun, gun,
Shouldn't have given him a gun for Christmas
Look what Daddy has done, done, done ~ Wall of Voodoo

Tullulah's Christmas Around the World

Tullulah, in all four tags, is (c) by Sharon Becker. I don't have to mention she's Sadie morph, do I?

I did not pursue the Christmas Around the World Blog Train to any great extent. I think there were something like 131 stops, which makes for one heck of a collab kit. I did pick up parts from my usual designers, and in some cases they are usable as mini-kits.

Fairy,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

Not everyvone gave you a choice either, between full size or taggers size. Toni's Scraparoni did, and I took the taggers size, as that's what I prefer to work in. I love all the bling she does, but the blingy Santa and Reindeer has to be one of my favorites. The kitty under the tree is also by Sharon, from one of her templates.

The word art is from Bekah E's Escape 2 Scrapland and is full size. I'm mentioning this because...

Fairy,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Snowman

When you're working in Taggers size, and add something full size in PSP, it's going to be like 3 times too big (or more) so you need to remember to re-size it first before you add it to your canvas. The scraps in this tag are from Imperfoxtion Designs contribution to the train, and Imperfoxtion is itself a collab effort between Foxy's Designs and Imp's Provisations.

In this case I had to put the two pieces together to get enough scraps to work with, so it became an Imperfoxtion effort. I was going to use Bittersweet, but most of her contribution was an alpha - I'll have to use her part of the train in conjunction with other sections.

Fairy,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

Back to Toni's Scraparoni again. I did the two tags together so I also used Bekah E's word art for his tag. Tallulah comes with the snow ball, I didn't add that in.

Fairy,Snowman,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

This portion of the blog train came from Creationz by Jo. One of the nice things about working in taggers size with a full size kit is that you elements that were intended to be smaller, and make them huge without the image pixelating out. You'll see that more in the in the Cinnamon tags I have upcoming, but I liked make the holly berry plant big in this one.

The word art is from Cupcake Sprinkles by Caitlin.

Anyway, there's a bit of holiday spirit for you on this lovely Christmas Day in Southwest Florida, where we never have to worry about ice and snow!

A Lil Mischief

I do like the "Lil" series from Krissy's Scraps and Lil Rebel and Lil Mischiefs have been her best two to date. These next four tags all make use of the "Lil Mischief" chibi, (c) by Krissy's Scraps, which is available at Designer Scraps Livin' Large and Cotton Candy Kreationz.

Lil Heart of Darkness

Chibi,Gothic,Vampire

Now seriously, wouldn't she look great with fangs? I do like Evie's suggestion of a Bambino eating Chibi, and she'd certainly be the one to get the job done!

The scraps are from the "Dark Angel" kit by Captivated Visions. The Goth Doll is from Calypso Design (Vol.3, I think) and the cord bow is courtesy of Judy Meibusch.

The "Dark Angel" kit is available at Creative Scraps.

Reality Bites

Chibi,Dolls,Gothic,Emo

Brandi at Grunge and Glitter scraps made her first scrap kit in September and she's already selling at Digital Chaos. This tag uses her "Teenage Dirtbag" taggers kit, with some notable additions.

The two "Tracy" dolls are (c) by Krissy's Scraps. The Glitter Brackets are courtesy of Designs by Helly, and Biscuit, the Dead Headz Bunny, is from Angie's Asylum. If I were to ask Santa for something for Christmas, it would be one of each of the commercial use items in the Poisoned Princess store, but I probably haven't been that good this year. So I'll settle for one of each of the Dead Headz, how's that?

(Of course, I also want one of each of Yarrow and Chaos Priestess' CU templates as well, but...I shouldn't complain. With the $20 gift card I get a bunch of Farrah's templates, so that should keep me happy.)

Grungy Lil Mischief

Chibi,Grunge,Gothic

I'd originally intended to use one of the "Dark Soul" kits from Melissa's Scraps, but I had this FTU Grungie Pretty mini-kit from her, so I ended up using that instead. The Glitter Hearts are from a FTU element pack from her blog.

The Denim Bracket is from Cutiepie Pics, while the doodles and the Goth Doll are (c) by Calypso Designs.

The Goth Dolls are starting to grown on me. The "cute" babies and the creepy little elves never will - although I just downloaded some strange mushroom guys from Aussie Scraps and she suggested they'd be good accessories for Fairy tags. So now I'm thinking the creepy little elves might be as well.

Anyway, it turned out kind of cute, don't you think?

Tortured Lil Dreamer

Chibi,Dolls,Gothic,Emo

Tammy of Tammy's Scraps evidently does have one of every CU item in the Poisoned Princess shop and she used several to whip up her "Tortured Dreams" taggers kit. All of the scraps in this tag came from that kit, including the word art and the Dead Headz dolls.

It's very heavy on the skulls (not to mention Pink and Black), so it's really very Emo.

Of course, I'd also like a new computer and a new - or at least properly working - car for Christmas, but I don't have a Santa with deep pockets.

Anyway, I have to go the pharmacy now. Perhaps when I come back I'll see what I can do with Creepy Little Elves and Strange Shroom Guys.

Donkey for the Holidays

You may have seen on the news recently where the non-existent reindeer at the North Pole are being effected by Global Warming. Because of this Santa has had to resort to other measures to get his sleigh airborne.

Unfortunately, it's met with mixed results. However, today's guest can be your guest too, FREE, as a special one day only pressie from Angelic Scraps! So get over there today to pick up Donkey for yourself!

And he comes with a commercial use license as well.

All of the snow globes in the following three tags were made with a template by Farrah's Creations. Donkey is (c) by Untamed Angel in all three tags as well.

Donkey's Snowy Adventure

Winter,Celebrity,Snowman,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

The snowman is (c) by Angelique Field/Digital Embellishments, and is part of the "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" clip art pack, which also comes with a commercial use license. I got it for 34 cents at Treasured Scraps. (w00t!) The tree was FTU from Calypso Design and is available on their blog and or Commercial Use as well (although their TOU does not reflect this).

The scraps are from Toni Scraparoni's "Christmas Around the World" blog train contribution, and the Beaded word art is courtesy of Bekah E.

Note that any of the items that I attribute to Angelique Field in this post are from the above referenced commercial use pack.

The Magic of Donkey

Celebrity,Penguins,Winter,Snow,Happy Holidays

Pulling the sleigh was not exactly what Donkey had in mind. Both the sleigh and the Santa Hat are from Angelique Field. The scraps are courtesy of Frosted Illusions "Holly Jolly Blog Train" contribution.

Perry the Penguin is from Tee's Scraps and you can buy him while you're downloading Donkey over at Angelic Scraps. The word art was a freebie set that I don't have a credit for. (I hate when that happens.)

A Pressie for Donkey

Elves,Celebrity,Teddy Bear,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

Saddie Elf and the Pressie are (c) by Calypso Designs and are available at Heavenly Taggerz. The scraps are from Scrappy Lover's "Tagger Scraps Blog Train" set. The little angel bear is courtesy of Linda's Dream Designs.

The word art in the background is from Ginger's House, and it says "May you always believe in the magic of Santa Claus" in case you couldn't figure it out for yourself.

Have a Happy Holiday and don't forget to get over to Angelic Scraps today so you too can bring Donkey home for the holiday season!

(Note to Angel: Can you do Puss in Boots next?)

Bugz

I got bugs
I got bugs in my room
Bugs in my bed
Bugs in my ears
Their eggs in my head
Bugs in my pockets
Bugs in my shoes
Bugs in the way I feel about you
~ Pearl Jam "Bugs"

Treasured Scraps had a 34 cents sale - there's one on right now through Christmas Eve, and I picked up most of Angelique Field's tubes packs, including the cuddle bug packs which I have virtually no interest in. However, I know Danielle at least will like them.

So all the Lady Cuddle Bugs in the following tags are (c) by Angelique Field/Digital Embellishment.

Lady Bug and Love Bug

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

The scraps from both these tags came from the "Strawberry Shortcake" FTU taggers kits by Candy's Treats. This is one of her first kits from earlier in 2008 when she started making them, and was the first kit she put out in .png format (as opposed to a .psp image format).

The crumpled paper in the Love Bug tag is also from her, but it is from a separate FTU element pack that is available on her blog.

The bugs in both tags are from the Cute Critters element pack from Scrappin' with Lil Ole Me, and the "Pink Ice" alpha is from Katimausi76, although it looks more frosted than iced. The Cute Critters pack is FTU and can be found at Creative Scraps.

It's kind of interesting to see how far Diane at Candy's Treats has progressed in a year. Compare this to the "Moonlight" or "Sleigh Bells" kit and the difference is really quite stunning.

"Friends Don't Bug Me" and "Cute as a Bug"

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

In both cases, the scraps are from the FTU "Bugs in my Garden" kit from from Kittz Kreationz. There are no outside elements or alphas.

"Hug a Bug" and "Cuddle Bug"

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

Chibi,Bug,Kids Tags

The scraps in both case, plus the word art and/or alpha are from the "Let Me Bug You" taggers kit from Creationz by Jo. I'd done a few kitty cat tags with this kit before, but it works well with the chibis too.

About the only thing I want from Angelique right now are some of her seasonal packs (i.e. Halloween) but these are not available at any of her stores (darn it all anyway).

I know, not exactly the tags you were expecting on Christmas Eve, but I felt a little taste of spring would be nice.

Holly Days - Vol. 1, Part 1

Victor Tabby Cat was hung by the Chimney with care....

Holly Daze,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

I had this head shot of Victor and was at a loss as to what to do with it, when it occurred to me to "put him into a stocking". As it turned out, this is probably my favorite of the batch.

The scraps are from the "Christmas Thyme" kit by Krissy's Scraps. The Reindeer ornament is from Scrappiles of Digi-Style, and the Stitched Felt Alpha is courtesy of Raspberry Road Designs. The Santa hat is from Goretty Rocha.

Thunder the Christmas Angel

Dog,Holly Daze,Holiday Glitter,Happy Holidays

I hear everyone at The Chronicles of Woo got a laugh out of this as Thunder Dunder is no Angel. Well...maybe he's an angel of the fallen variety?

In any case, the scraps and alpha are from the "Owl be Home for Christmas" taggers kit from Designs by Helly, and I'm sure she never intended the angel wings to be used in this manner.

Thompson all snuggled, down in his bed

Holly Daze,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Happy Holidays

This was such a nice shot of Thompson, that I couldn't pass it by. He's in a basket, which you can see in the tag, although I cut the back half out.

I did the tag at the end of November, but it didn't fit in with Snow Cats, so I moved it back to the Holly Daze project.

The scraps are from the "Krafty Christmas" taggers size kit by Urban Mermaid, while the "Woodsy" alpha is from the ever amusing Lady Grudlefunk. (Seriously, read her blog sometime. She's a hoot!)

T'Abby Normal

Holly Daze,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Penguins,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

This was a funny shot of Abby, and I had to use it. The Scraps are from the "Silent Night" taggers kit by Soxsational Scraps, which is one of six kits that were recalled. The Green Flake alpha is courtesy of Scrappin' Cop.

In hopes that Samantha Black soon would be there

Holly Daze,Tuxi Cat,Domestic Cat,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter,Pony

I knew I was going to scrap Sam jumping into a sleigh, but the trick was fitting the whole thing into a shot and still having Sam be the main focus. I'd seen this done - sort of - on another layout and had wanted to try it, using the smaller picture in the background, and I think it worked out quite well. It's definitely "magical".

The scraps are from the "Winter Twilight" taggers kit from Baby Cakes Scraps. I am particularly fond of the horse and sleigh in that set. The Chrome Alpha is from Scrap Dolly, and the "Magic of Christmas" word art is courtesy of WordArt Fun.

Ping was dashing all over the house

Holly Daze,Ginger Cat,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Holiday Glitter,Happy Holidays

The scraps are from the "Blinged Out Christmas" taggers kit from Creationz by Jo. The Aged Shimmering Alpha is by Linda Walton and Bon Scrapatit Designs, and the "Dear Santa" word art is courtesy of Ginger's House.

Little Ol' KC, so lively and quick

Holly Daze,Torti Cat,Domestic Cat,Happy Holidays,Holiday Glitter

The scraps are from the "Snowel" kit from Krissy's Scraps. I used none of the clip art, and I though it turned out really well. All of Krissy's holiday themed kits were good, but I'm partial to her "Snowel" and "Snow Kids" kits.

The lovely Winter alpha is from Andjelina's Designs.

Jingle Flairs!

I was playing with the flair overlays. In this case, all the "Jingles" are (c) by Calypso Designs, as is the overlay which I got off her blog as a freebie.

The scraps are all from "My Boys Xmas" FTU kit from Krissy's Scraps. It was an interesting exercise in working within a limited creative environment.

Elves,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Flair

Elves,Christmas,Happy Holidays,Flair

Elves,Snowman,Happy Holidays,Christmas,Flair

Elves,Snowman,Happy Holidays,Christmas,Flair

Ice Baby Flair

On a similar note, I have a "Build A Flair" template kit from Farrah's Creations that I decided to play with. Yeah, I could have been doing these for a while now. LOL!

The Frost Baby was part of the the Holiday Pressie from Angelique Field, while the scraps are from Candy's Treats from the "I Love Snow" and "Sleigh Bells" kits. It's a little bit off -- but it's only noticeable at full size. (Zoom it in and look close on the lower right hand corner & along the right hand side, you'll see what I mean).

Flair,Winter,Baby

I treated myself and got the grab bag package from Creationz by Jo. There's enough in there that I could make my own scrap kit, it I wanted to sit down and put the work into it. Maybe I will! I probably have to start sometime!

Cats on Tuesday: Dozy and Cozy

button

House Panther,Miss Diamond,Domestic Cat

Miss Diamond was napping so cute with her head in between her paws that I had to take a picture. Unfortunately, as soon as I turned the camera on and she heard the little jingle, she looked up. I'm actually surprised she did that, since she hates the flash. I would have thought she'd be better off with her eyes covered.

Miss Diamond,House Panther,Domestic Cat

When she's not dozing on the scanner, she's taken over my computer chair has her bed. Or she's been sleeping on floor. To that end, I put the cat cozy down for her and of course, she refused to use it, as she's not a cozy sort of cat.

Sir Tristan,Domestic Cat,Tabby Cat

Tris on the other hand loved it, but he is a snuggle bunny and loves to snuggle in anything. I think that is in part Diamond's part wild nature, she likes to be ready to action at a moment's notice and if she's snuggled in, she may not want to get up.

Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat

I'm with Tris, I'd rather stay snuggled up in my bed, especially in cold weather.

I did pull Diamond's sleeping carpet out and put it down on the floor for her, a move that was met with great enthusiasm on her part. When I left for work she was happily curled up on the carpet with a satisfied smile on her little cat face. She LOVES that carpet for some reason.

Note that "Cats on Tuesday" is taking a break this week for the Holidays and will return next week.

Mr. Tristan's Marco Island Adventure

Sir Tristan,Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Pirate

This was done with the "Pirates Life" taggers kit by Soxsational Scraps. The frame actually has clip art on all four ends but aside from the flag, it all got covered up. The parrot, which is on Tris' shoulder, was on one end of the frame, the bag of gold is behind Tris' head and the pirate skull is pretty much were it was supposed to be in the first place.

The "Black Epoxy" alpha is from Free Digital Scrapbooking.

It's virtually impossible to get a picture of a beaches at Marco Island without a high rise in them somewhere.

All I want for Christmas

Tabby Cat,Domestic Cat,Sir Tristan,Happy Holidays

I'm not at all happy with this, but was having a sugar crash in the middle of it and was too tired to play with it further. Tris looks distorted for some reason. I used the "Peace on Earth" mini kit from Designs by Helly. The sheet music is from Sentimental Style, and the Winter Alpha is from Andjelina's Designs.

I do not need any more Holiday themed kits, but if Andjelina decides to put hers on sale after the holiday, I'll definitely buy them and stock pile them against next year. She does gorgeous work!
